Venus Retrograde Journey

Venus retrograde (Rx) started late last night at 11:45pm PDT in Gemini. She joins Pluto (Rx since April 25th) and Saturn (Rx since Sunday). Jupiter will be joining them tomorrow at 7:32am PDT.

Venus reflects love, beauty, pleasure, sensuality, and governs intimacy and relationships.

Venus’s Rx journey happens once every 18 months for 40 to 44 days.

In ancient times, Venus going below the horizon was a signal for going inward to honor the shadow side of Venus.

Reflect on the last couple weeks—the pre-shadow time (pre-retrograde). What have you been most passionate about?

This may help you discern what you are emotionally resonating with that you need to focus on or recommit to.

Significant Venus Rx Dates

5/28: Venus Rx will descend as the Evening Star, disappearing from the sky—going below the horizon. This marks the start of the underworld journey initiated by the ancient Sumerian and Babylonian goddesses, Ishtar and Inanna, every year. They would meet their dark sister goddess, be stripped naked and killed. An intense myth! Mark your calendar, and be prepared to meet your shadow.

6/3: Venus Rx, will conjunct the Sun, and bring you some clarity. The energies around your shadow work during this time will begin to shift. If, that is, you are facing your shadow.

6/9: Venus ascends as the Morning Star, and she brings beauty & strength with her. The time Venus rose above the horizon was important for ancient priestesses. It was their purpose to wait. They had no other items on the agenda. I imagine them waiting for Venus as her sparkling light began to ascend the morning sky. What will be your moment of truth? What gifts of Venus will you be honing during this retrograde period?

6/24: Venus stations Direct at 11:48pm PDT at 5° Gemini. Look back and reflect on the realizations and magic you have honed over the past 42 days.

This will be an empowering 42-43 days to refocus and remember what it is we are passionate about and to continue to take actions towards what we love and how we want to show up in the world.
