divineMuses will have a booth at the NW Tarot Symposium! The NWTS will be held at the Monarch Hotel in Portland, OR, March 6th- March 8th 2015. Looks like there will be some amazing tarot, oracle & lenormand presenters, workshops, venders, artists and performances planned for the weekend. Check out the list of presenters and vendors here! Barbara Moore (author of Tarot Spreads, Tarot for Beginners and Steampunk Tarot) is the headline presenter! I recommend her books. Her writing style is fluid, and the books I have read have been a breeze to read, yet they are always packed with so much information and wisdom. The Steampunk Tarot is a fantastic deck with the traditional RWS symbol system, making it a wonderful reading deck for the beginner to learn with, but one an advanced reader could pick up and use right away. I received this deck as a gift in 2012 and I have really enjoyed it! I especially like the illustrations by Aly Fell. They have that lovely old-meets-new Victoriana artwork with an amazing use of light and shadows. The cards are rich and dark-colored, which make the computer graphics not so strikingly obvious. (I usually dislike super-CGed tarot decks.) Moore's companion book is so fully packed with tarot wisdom that any novice could read it alone and begin using the deck, or any deck, with some confidence. It's a brilliant work by her, along with her Tarot Spreads book, which I have found to be an amazing reference for making my own spreads. I'm excited to attend her workshop and see her speak! I really look forward to the first annual NWTS! I'll have the Antiquarian Tarot and the Antiquarian Lenormand decks with me. Stop by the divineMuses table, I would love to meet you!
