My self-published Lua Tarot is a black & white tarot deck featuring Victorian art collaged with diverse portraits of our global ancestors immersed in the beauty of earth's landscapes. This is a RWS based tarot reimagined in a lunar monochromatic universe.
Step Through the Lua Portal, Where Wisdom & Wonder Meet
Within the glow of the Lua Tarot, there is a luminescent prescience. Opening portals with the moon as satellite. Conjuring the subconscious doorway—a divination portal where wisdom and wonder meet.
Lua is the Portuguese word for the moon, a lua. You may be familiar with its Spanish relative, la luna. The moon’s shades of gray and silvery luminescence are reflected throughout the deck’s work. As the cards took shape during my creation process, their dreamy & soft quality inspired the deck’s naming.
The Lua Tarot was created using stunning 19th-century engravings of extraordinary landscapes and portraits from around the world. With this work, I strived to excavate and seamlessly collage fragments of a bygone era, combining diverse portraiture with timeless landscapes to create an inspiring tool for modern practitioners of magic, ancestral healing, and inner work.
The Lua Tarot is a portal.
Through it, one discovers a world lit with moonlight; a world awash in monochromatic tones and silvery grays; beyond color, a union of black & white, and all of the shades in between; a dream world, a moon world.
Step through the gateway to luminescent truth.

MORE ABOUT THE BOOKLET
The Lua Tarot's companion booklet is based on the full-length Antiquarian Tarot Companion Guidebook that I wrote for my first tarot deck. This booklet is clear and concise, yet offers the new student ample information about tarot. If you are a tarot initiate, it acts as introductory primer.
The appendices include tables and references to make learning the tarot accessible. Including:
○ Myers-Briggs Type Indicators connected to the Court Cards
○ Yes, No, Maybe Cards
○ Tables with quick access to tarot & astrology keywords
Much of modern occult wisdom was passed down through the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, which scores of decks & books have drawn from. My knowledge pulls from modern and classic Western occult sources. The Lua deck is largely based on the Rider Waite Smith Tarot (RWS). Anyone with knowledge of it can easily work with the Lua Tarot.
