 Can you believe it’s Summer?! It honestly doesn’t feel like it to me. But, it has been rainy and gray today here in Portland, and that vibe is certainly reflecting in the astrology. We have a potent Solstice Solar Eclipse that is exact tonight 11:41PM PDT. The New Moon moves into Cancer at 11:02PM and the Sun moves into Cancer at 2:44PM. Which means that this powerful Solar Eclipse portal is a Cancerian one. It is emotionally-based with a focus around home, family and femininity. We will likely be super sensitive, needy and want to snuggle in with people or things for comfort. Most Summer Solstice celebrations are marked with an outpouring of celebration with loved ones, festivities and cheers.
Generally, it’s a time to revel in all that has been flowering and is starting to fruit. But this year the focus seems to be one of self-reflection, inner work, and hopefully self-care too. The Eight of Cups is the eclipse card, and is appropriate since we are in the midst of eclipse season. Also, we are entering this Summer Solstice Eclipse portal during a collective Dark Night of the Soul. There is deep work and soul searching going on and I feel like we are witnessing a conscious moving away from outworn paradigms. We are entering the gateway, and it feels like a halfway point of sorts. There has been emotional struggle, and huge realizations that we as a collective have to process and walk through. There’s so much uncertainty, but that’s what the 8 of Cups is all about. Moving away without knowing the outcome or answers.
