Happy Spring! Here's an update for the 3rd ed. Antiquarian Tarot. There will be a few changes in the deck, including new cards, backs, and bag design, and the companion book will be updated for this edition too.
![]() Supposedly, I was going to retire this deck, but after many requests for me to reprint, I decided to do another short print run. Purchase here if you would like a copy. Your order supports my small business and helps keep these available. Thank you for supporting my self-published works! This European-style divination deck, called Lenormand, features my handmade mixed-media collages that I created in 2013 for personal use. I used antique photographs, Victorian-style wallpaper, and illustrations from antiquarian books, hence the name Antiquarian Lenormand. ![]() Divine Muses Oracle Édition Française, decks and guidebooks, arrived this week! The set was just recently released in Canada, Belgium, France, and Switzerland. What a beautifully well-produced set by Alliance Magique: Arcana Sacra Editions in France! I am loving the glossiness of the book and cards. I tend to prefer matte finishes, which is what I choose for my self-published works, but this glossy vibe feels so sumptuous and really makes my collages pop on the cards and full-color pages! Happy New Year!! I wanted to start this year by thanking Divine Muses customers for purchasing decks in my shop in 2021. Your orders supported reforestation efforts!
Last August, I made a commitment to partner with One Tree Planted, to plant trees for every deck order. From July 2021 to December 31, 2021, with the help of tarot, oracle and lenormand purchases, we are planting 500 trees! If you ordered one of my decks during that time, take a moment to reflect that that deck will have a companion tree growing somewhere in the world! I am continuing that commitment this year....every deck order plants one tree! I'm so grateful for your support! Not only are you supporting my tiny business, but your purchase also helps plant trees where they are needed. Last year I chose the following reforestation projects for Divine Muses deck orders: Solstice blessings from my Magical Child to yours! Shine bright on the longest night. The stars don't twinkle without the darkness.
The photo above shows a prototype of my latest deck creation, the Magical Child Oracle. I'm doing something new for the holiday season: giveaways that are not for social media, but for my subscription list! If you've been subscribed to my newsletter, thank you!
I'm giving away a deck or reading mat every week to a winning subscriber through Winter Solstice. I'll be randomly choosing the winner from my subscriber list. ![]() While it's been a few years since I went to the Musée Français de la Carte à Jouer, it's about time I shared some photos of the tarot and Lenormand cards that I viewed during my visit. The pièce de résistance is one of the oldest known tarot cards, a 15th-century hand-painted gold-stamped work. I also share photos of some fascinating antique playing cards. There are many cards in their collection as you'd imagine. Please excuse some of my photos. I shot these in 2015 using a Samsung Note 2, so the photos just don't compare to current smart phones. That, plus the challenge of taking photos through display glass sometimes made it difficult to capture the cards. (They keep it dim in there, which actually made browsing the museum's collection a delight!) I did spend some time adjusting the photos in an app to try to improve them, but there's nothing I could do about light reflection. I hope you still enjoy looking through these! The Lua Tarot and Lenormand have been nominated for the 2021 CARTA awards!
The Lua Tarot has been nominated for the following categories: *Best Tarot Deck *Best Self-Published Tarot Deck *Outstanding Artistic Achievement The Lua Lenormand has been nominated for: *Best Oracle Deck I'm so grateful and honored to have my work be included in the International Tarot Foundation judges' nominees list among some really incredible decks! My first unpacking of the USA's Pluto Return is in this post, which I wrote when it stationed retrograde (Rx) in April. I wanted to write more on Pluto Return since Pluto just stationed direct (October 6th) after being Rx for 6 months! The synchronicity of this astro event is really interesting, considering it's on the heels of the Facebook whistleblower's testimony yesterday, and after FB shut down for part of the day! In my opinion, much of the struggle the USA seems to be facing during its Pluto Return is the deepest divisiveness and polarization, which seems to have been fomented by the FB algorithm's preference for negative posts since they get the most engagement. Tristan Harris, Founder of the Center for Humane Technology, recently stated after Frances Haugen's testimony that: We are more profitable if we are addicted, outraged, irritable, disinformed, and polarized than if we're a human being. |
