 Lua Tarot Ten of Wands The fires on the West Coast have been devastating. I shuffled for a message from the Lua Tarot and drew the Ten of Wands. Sigh. Burnout could not be more literal here.
“Unprecedented” seems to be the word for 2020! Several of our friends were evacuated from their homes. We opened our home to our dear friends and their two beloved cats. What a terrifying and stressful time for them and everyone affected by these fires.

The Strength card is from the upcoming Lua Tarot. It’s basically done! The booklet is in editing mode and I’m now working on the box art. The cards are at the printer and I’m waiting on the proof. Yay!  I have been working with the Lua Tarot’s test copy and getting the details sorted out to self-release the deck. I am looking forward to completing this project!
The mini book is almost done. I am still writing the Swords and Coins sections. The rest of the booklet is written and will go into editing phase right after I’m done with the Coin suit’s descriptions. Those are jasmine flowers from our garden. I wish you could smell the scent wafting through the space. Jasmine is so magical! A friend of mine recently said that god must smell like it.  This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is exact tonight at 9:44pm PDT in Capricorn. It’s the USA’s birthday too, and it has been going through major difficult times. I know I keep talking about shadow work in my astrology posts, but, it’s a Capricorn Lunar Eclipse, and he rules the Devil card, so it comes up again.
The Devil card is about the shadow and the ego. He shows us where we have attachment and fear. It’s the card of materialism and being addicted to stuff, like money. It’s also the card of bondage and enslavement.  “You cannot talk butterfly language to caterpillar people.” -Unknown
Lua Tarot has two Judgement cards. I’m naming one of them Evolution. This card is about a new era of realization. It is the resurrection card, and brings transformation and liberation. When we get to the Judgement card, it speaks to a conscious and intentional choice of creating advancement...Evolution.  Can you believe it’s Summer?! It honestly doesn’t feel like it to me. But, it has been rainy and gray today here in Portland, and that vibe is certainly reflecting in the astrology.
We have a potent Solstice Solar Eclipse that is exact tonight 11:41PM PDT. The New Moon moves into Cancer at 11:02PM and the Sun moves into Cancer at 2:44PM. Which means that this powerful Solar Eclipse portal is a Cancerian one. It is emotionally-based with a focus around home, family and femininity.  The last Major Arcana card for the Lua Tarot is done. Here is Justice! If you’re a Libra, or have Libra Rising, this is one of your tarot archetypes.
With everything going on in the world there are some lessons that this archetype brings and one of those lessons is balance. In a world where everything seems so dichotomous, Justice teaches us to find our center. She teaches us the lesson of the middle path. On the spectrum of reality there are many perspectives, yet somehow we’ve come to have deeply polarized reality maps of our ideals and our society.  There's one more Major Arcana card left for me to create. Here are Temperance and the Devil. 65 cards are now completed, 13 left to create for the Lua Tarot.

Last week I got together with a few tarot friends and we asked the cards to give us a message about the pandemic. We pulled a card for ourselves and one for the collective. I pulled the Judgement card for the collective. I had been collecting source material for Judgement and was dumbfounded by the draw—but why am I surprised? |
