A "show and tell" of a recent Lauren Forestell & Le Fanu Lenormand collaboration.
Here's Le Fanu's wonderful blogpost about the cards: http://mycuriouscabinet.wordpress.com/2014/02/16/the-destroyed-dondorf/
I made a video of my latest acquisition of the Buckland Romani Tarot. Call it a review or call it "show and tell" but I go through all the cards and make some comments about the deck.
I have been wishing for this deck for some time and didn't realize it was still in print! The original Llewellyn edition has been OOP for a while, however, Galde Press has been printing the 2nd edition of the cards since 2008 and there were still a few left. I'm so delighted to have a copy of this wonderful Romani style tarot and am looking forward to getting to know it. I have since done a couple readings with it and it's reading clearly. It is a wonderful and lovely deck to handle.
The Buckland Romani Tarot's suit names have replaced the standard RWS. Koshes (Wands), Koros (Cups), Chives (Swords) & Bolers (Pentacles).
The print quality is superb and the colors are beautifully saturated with very clear images. The cards are on a thick matte papery stock and the edges seem to chip easily since there is no protective coating. The tuck box is thinner than your usual box and no LWB was included. For $20 that's fine with me.
Card size is 2 3/4" x4 7/8" (70mm x 124mm).
The book I share here is a used OOP Llewellyn Publications 1st edition that I acquired prior to buying the 2nd edition deck. This book is what finally prompted me to seek out the tarot deck. The 2nd edition of the book is still available through Galde Press.
FYI: At the time I placed my order, GP told me they had very low quantities left in stock. I just searched their website to get the link for the deck and it appears that they are sold out! (Book is still available.) I'm not sure if they will be printing this again. Please check with them for further information.
