If you're looking for an introduction to the tarot, this deck now has a detailed companion guidebook with instruction on how to start reading the cards. It's clear and concise, yet offers the new student ample information about each card. The appendices has tables and references to make learning the tarot easy and accessible.
This deck is based on the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) tarot and anyone with knowledge of it can work with the Antiquarian Tarot. If you're just starting to explore the tarot, many teachers recommend learning with the RWS, but the Antiquarian Tarot is a lovely alternative if you want something with a unique design and style.
ABOUT THE CARDS
The Antiquarian Tarot comes with 80 cards:
22 Major Arcana based on the widely used RWS deck
56 Minor Arcana titles: Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles
2 extra Significator cards: one for a male sitter & one for a female sitter
Comes with a matching padded zipper-case with a red inner liner
Standard: 2.75''×4.75'' (70mm×120mm)
FRENCH CARD STOCK (310 gsm)
The premium linen finish is a lovely card stock with a very light, almost unseen, texture. It feels wonderful in the hands, shuffles like a dream and is durable and flexible. This card stock lays flat and doesn't change shape after shuffling and handling.
MORE ABOUT THE DECK
The Antiquarian Tarot features handmade collage artwork using Victorian-era cabinet cards and photography with Victorian-style wallpaper. Each card was lovingly and attentively crafted to form a functional working deck as well as an engaging work of art.
The initial inspiration for the Antiquarian Tarot was the Albano-Waite Tarot, one of my favorite reading decks. Actually, the principles of my deck are based on the RWS deck combined with Paul Foster Case's work, which form the foundation of the Albano-Waite deck.
The Major Arcana's wallpaper is based on the colors that were assigned by Paul Foster Case. The Minor Arcana is also derived from his coloration symbolism and similar to the Albano-Waite:
Wands have orange backgrounds (court cards are red)
Cups are aqua (court cards are light blue)
Swords are yellow (court cards are gold)
Pentacles are green (court cards are violet)
This system of colors makes it easy to determine which elements are predominant in a reading or which are missing. This is especially helpful for visual people and may help facilitate clairvoyance during a card reading.
ABOUT THE GUIDEBOOK
The Antiquarian Tarot Companion Guidebook has 396 pages with a wonderfully tactile silk laminate cover. If you are a tarot novice, it will be a great introductory primer. If you are a seasoned reader, the book offers information about the cards that you may be interested in. It includes images and details about all of the cards.
Much of modern occult wisdom was passed down through the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, which scores of decks & books have drawn from. My knowledge pulls from this, as well as Hindu ideology. Paul Foster Case also studied Hindu philosophy and that may very well be why I was so drawn to his work. My guidebook is largely based on the sacred tarot and occult mysticism, with some Hindu theory sprinkled throughout. There is info about the chakras, as well as how to connect with the cards through meditation and mystical practice.
Silk laminate cover, 396 pages: 4.25" x 7" x 1" (108mm x 178mm x 25mm)

Canada Orders: USPS First Class International Mail $16 You can expect your package in 10-14 days depending on customs. Your tarot cards and/or guidebook will be shipped carefully by me in a padded envelope via USPS International First Class Mail. This includes tracking.
Worldwide Orders (tarot deck & case only): $16 If you are an INTERNATIONAL buyer, tarot decks will be printed on demand (POD). Please allow package approximately 2-6 weeks to arrive to you. The timing depends largely on your country's customs process. Please keep this in mind and please consider delays when you order.
The printing company I use has a distribution center in the EU and they are now charging me extra shipping fees (I'm not 100% sure if this is to cover VAT). I have heard from several customers in the EU that they did not have to pay extra VAT. However, I cannot make any assurances that there won't be other fees to deliver your package because I am not familiar with each country's fees. In other words: International buyers will still be responsible for whatever VAT and taxes that are issued. You will notice that the price of the deck is higher for Worldwide Orders to compensate for these higher shipping costs. My apologies for this, I hope you understand that I have to account for this cost somewhere.
Note about the companion book for worldwide orders: I am not offering the book here at this time for orders outside of the USA and Canada. However, you can order it separately at my Etsy shop! I apologize for any inconvenience this causes. Due to the high cost of shipping this book overseas, I almost did not offer it at all, but as a courtesy to some of my customers, I am honoring their request and listing it in the Etsy shop as a separate listing. You may choose to purchase both the book and the tarot deck at the Etsy shop, but please know that there will be two shipping costs because the book and the tarot deck will be shipped from two different locations.
Please be aware of your import laws & how long it takes for packages to clear customs in your country. Orders shipped internationally may be subject to customs and/or VAT fees and are the responsibility of the buyer. Thank you!
